‘Tis the season to get ENGAGED!

Did you know that 16% of marriage proposals occur in the month of December? Holy crap. The majority of these proposals occur on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day!

Just because everyone else is proposing in the month of December does not mean you have to too… BUT if you are proposing soon, I have 3 tips to help you plan the kickass proposal of you + your partner’s dreams!

1. Consider planning the proposal in a location that is important to you and your significant other.

Is there somewhere you travel to each year that you would like to pop the question at? Maybe a restaurant you frequent, or the park you had your first date in. Choose a location/setting that feels right to you.

Bonus tip – scout out the location before you pop the question. This will help to ease any nervous feelings you may have!

2. Get friends and family members involved (if that’s important to you two!)

Over the summer I photographed the sweetest proposal where the future groom gathered a group of ~20 close friends and family members. After I led the future bride to the proposal location, each of the friends and family members told her why they love her and they each gave her a rose! It was so sweet and it made the proposal even more special.

3. Hire a photographer! 📸

The day you propose is one of the most exciting days of you and your fiancé’s (!!!) lives. While you’ll never forget the proposal, having someone photograph it ensures you’ll have the precious details of the day captured for forever. You’ll appreciate having photographs to show friends and family, and you can use them on wedding stationary!

Plus, many photographers are more than happy to help you plan out the details of your proposal.

Have you already said “YES!!” to your marriage proposal? OR you know you’ll say yes when it happens? 😉
